Ed Hancock is a business operations and supply chain transformation leader with over 35 years of experience. He has a track record of solving complex operational problems to improve financial performance.
At Flex (formerly Flextronics), Ed led end-to-end supply chain transformations for Flex’s largest customers. Typical engagements included customer business analysis, supply chain segmentation and attribute prioritization, value stream mapping, supply chain strategy and development of a value proposition to dramatically improve customer business performance.
Prior to Flex, Ed designed, implemented and led the global supply chain for Kodak’s digital camera business, growing revenue from $150 million to $1.4 billion - achieving #1 market share in the United States and #3 market share worldwide.
At Kodak, Ed built a new organization integrating all aspects of the order-to-cash and procurement-to-pay cycles for the consumer digital camera business. He transformed independent, poorly performing functions into an integrated, high-performing, self-managed team that drove significant improvements to business processes; successfully revamped the supply chain planning processes to turnaround a business on the verge of shutdown; changed the supply chain from ‘Push’ to ‘Pull’; increased inventory turns by 5x; and re-engineered the Sales and Operations Planning process to reduce the planning cycle time by 3x. During this two-year turnaround, his team received awards from Best Buy, Staples, Circuit City and Target for improved on-time delivery.
Ed holds several supply chain patents; APCIS CSCP and SCOR-P certifications; and is an APICS certified instructor.
Ed has a broad business background. Before becoming involved in operations and supply chain, he held senior positions in finance, sales, marketing and information systems.
Ed earned a Master of Science degree in Management (MBA) from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he received the 1st Seley Scholar award for ‘outstanding academic achievement and exceptional promise of business leadership,’ one of the top three awards given to Sloan School Masters degree recipients. Ed also earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from General Motors Institute, now known as Kettering University.
Ed is a life-long learner. He recently received five MIT Edx Micromaster's Supply Chain course certifications and is currently studying machine learning to understand how it will transform supply chain operations.
